eLearning Forum

The eLearning Essentials forum is an online discussion open to all registered users.  Specific courses are discussed as well as tools of the trade and peer consultation on a variety of topics.  This type of dialogue is ongoing and is not limited to the ten-minute breaks of a traditional workshop.  Posting is simple.  Give it a try.  If you do not like what you posted, just remember that the delete button is your friend!

Pamela Shinault, LCSW

Pamela Shinault, LCSW, CCM has 15 years experience in the field of Medical Social Work.  Prior to that, she worked at Lakeshore at the Riverbend Program with children ages six to ten years old.  Pam earned her BSSW from East Tennessee State University in 1979 and her Masters degree from University of Tennessee in Knoxville in 1987. Currently Pam is employed at Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center.  She is the Social Worker/ Case Manager for Women’s Services and the current President of the Tennessee Society of Healthcare Social Workers.  She works closely with the Perinatal Center and high-risk pregnancies. At FSRMC, she offers counseling and case management services for the high risk patients who are admitted for pregnancy complications and serves as a liaison for all the OB/GYN doctors affiliated FSRMC.
She also facilitates approximately 50 adoptions a year and coordinates with the staff when there is a fetal demise.

Since entering the field of Medical Social Work, Pam’s interests include grief and bereavement and post-partum depression.  Currently, Pam co-facilitates the Healing Hearts Support Group.  This is a parent support group for those who have experienced a miscarriage, stillbirth or newborn death.  Pam was a former member of the Post-Partum Task Force and currently offers counseling for patients who are admitted for delivery who may experience post-partum depression. 

Pam’s experience includes working with all ages and a variety of issues ranging from child victims of abuse, death and dying including the death of a newborn, adoption, and mental health crisis within a hospital setting.
