How to Navigate the Site
In order to purchase a course from eLearning Essentials, follow the following steps:
On-line Courses
- Browse the course catalog with no obligation to purchase a course. Click on the course title to access additional course information.
- When you are ready to purchase the course, scroll to the bottom of the course summary page and select "Purchase This Course." A new screen will appear for you to either set up a personal account with eLearning Essentials or enter your login information if you are an existing customer. Participants will be prompted to enter any discount/special offer codes during the registration process in order to receive the discount/offer for this selection.
- After you complete the registration form, you will go to a secure site for payment. The final payment will reflect any discounts used during the registration process. When you enter your credit card information, enter your name as it reflected on your card including any initials. The address entered needs to be the same as the billing address for the credit card.
- If you read the material on-line, click on "Read Course" and Adobe will open and you will have access to the course material. The on-line course material is presented in a PDF with pre-established bookmarks outlining the different sections of the course. Click on "bookmarks" on the left side of the PDF to access the course sections. When you have finished reading the course, you will need to close the Adobe window and return to your account page to take the course examination.
- If you download the course material to your computer, return to the site when you are ready to take the course exam. Select "My Account" from the menu bar.
- You will need your username(e-mail address) and your pass code to access your account information any time you logout or leave the site. eLearning Essentials e-mailed your confidential password to you when you registered.
- Select "Take Course Exam" when you feel you have a good understanding of the course material. The participant will not have access to the course exam until they have read the course material.
- If you download the course material to your computer, return to the site when you are ready to take the course exam. Select "My Account" from the menu bar to access your account information and select "Take Course Exam."
- After completing and passing the course examination, select "Print CE Certificate" to obtain a copy for your records. You will need to complete a brief course/site evaluation prior to printing the certificate.
Book-based Courses
- Browse the course catalog with no obligation to purchase a course. Click on the course title to access additional course information.
- When you are ready to purchase the course, scroll to the bottom of the course summary page and select "Purchase This Course." - Book-based courses require a separate purchase of the book for the course. A link is provided for participants to purchase the books from Guilford Press; however, you may purchase the book on your own.
- You must click to open or download the course overview material before you will have access to the course examination (we recommend that participants maintain a copy of the overview for their continuing education records). The select "Take Course Exam."
- After completing and passing the course examination, select "Print CE Certificate" to obtain a copy for your records. You will need to complete a brief course/site evaluation prior to print the certificate.
The technical requirements required to navigate and use are site include the following:
- A 233 MHz Pentium-class processor if you use Windows XP Professional as your operating system
- At least 256 MB of RAM
- A mouse or other pointing device
- An 800x600 resolution monitor
- Internet access
- Adobe Acrobat Reader
